Wow! I went on a bit of a bogging spree today. What can I say, when one is stuck in a cubicle doing mundane work for 8hrs a day, working for THE MAN...he has to keep himself sane. And my way of doing so is by blurbing a few sentences at a time about the music that I love.
And the rest of the week looks pretty grim as far as killing time goes, so I thought I better get the music sharing out of my system tonight. I just took my beloved Boston terrier on a walk, and as usual the shuffle mode was in rare form. It actually played these three gems right in a row...one after another. Oh so thematic, shuffle, oh so thematic.

The more I listen to this new Horse Feathers record, the more I love it. I had a friend say to me the other day that the songs on'Words Are Dead' remind her of everything Iron & Wine used to be before Sam Beam fell in love with jamnesia....if you have seen an IW show lately, you know exactly what I am talking about.
So if you are indeed of an infusion of beautiful, slightly dark nu folk...give this record a shot...i think you'll love it.

Piracy might not be the best thing ever to happen to the business side of the music industry, but it sure has helped out people like me...music lovers who live in secondary markets.
Living most of my life in Columbus,OH I have just grown accustom to seeing some of my favorite bands, especially the European ones, skip my town while on tour. But over the last 2 or 3 years, due in large part ot file sharing I imagine, bads are having to get more and more of their money from playing live...this means lots and LOTS of shows to come to.
I don't ever remember a summer here where I actually had to DECIDE on which shows to go to...usually so few came that it was never a problem to attend all of them. This summer, however, it will be one hard choice after another...but as a long suffering music fan in smaller town, it's a problem that I for one am thrilled to have!

Upon waking up and glancing out the window, to the gray drizzle...it's looking like an Iron & Wine kinda day. Most definitely.
