I was 5 when John Lennon was killed, and as I look back I think that was the first time that I can ever remember seeing my mom cry. Twenty nine years later and it's still so sad to think about how much he could have accomplished had he not been taken from us.

Elliot Smith always sounded like November to me, God rest his soul. Just something about the bitter-sweetness of his voice that seemed to jive so well with this time of year in Ohio.
The reason I bring this up at all, is that the weird irony glitch in the Itunes shuffle mode seemed to kick in again this evening. I was just sitting here, minding my own business, returning a few emails when these two songs came on....back to back. Each one reminding me a lot of Mr. Smith...and thus, that November-esque sound. Had to pass them along...

Thank the GODS it is Friday...been a long week of nothing much at all here, if I may paraphrase the Replacements. Music is indeed my savior.
I took a nice, LOOOOONG relaxing walk yesterday after work with the shuffle mode as my guide, all the while making mental notes of the great songs that popped up that I hadn't heard in awhile. Here are the greatest hits from that walk...a quick mix to start your weekend off...enjoy!

I need original cell phone statements scanned and numbers changed then reprinted front and back!, if this is something you can do well and do in a very quick manner I need to speak with you asap... There are three to four bills that need to adjusted with numbers on pages, front and back.
I am dealing with a jealous boyfriend that wants to see my statements asap.

It's a rainy, dreary Sunday here in Ohio. Shocking..i know. But, this weather can mean only one thing...lots of Elliot Smith playing around the house today. I wish Mr. Smith was as prolific after is death as, say, Tupac Shakur. Man, it seemed like 2Pac has released like 2 albums a year since he died! At least we got 'New Moon' from Elliot...and it is really amazing....i know this, because it's all I've listened to today.

Bitter, resentful, and beautiful. That's what I hear when I listen to Elliot Smith break up songs. He had an amazing knack for turning his angst into these incredible pop songs. I miss him.
