Senior Discount = Age Discrimination (Everywhere)

This drives me nuts. What's with the "senior discount" at restaurants? Or even the "senior menu" from which I may not order? Seems as though we have legalized age discrimination. Ok, let's figure this out...
Arguement 1: I suppose the senior discount was to help the old retired people out due to they are retired and have a fixed income. Well, shit, I have a fixed income. I budget my life due to my income being what it is. Sure, I'd rather go to a nice place to eat and throw down wads of cash for a meal...but I don't. Not because it is a choice, it's because I don't have wads of cash falling out my ass. I guess the "sub arguement" to this is that their retired income is substatantially less than the income they had before they retired. So what? I am self-employed. Some weeks or months I make substantially less that I did the previous week or month. I could use that discount just as much. I, again, budget accordingly.
Arguement 2: They have higher medical needs and are on, at worst, just Medicare. Well, fucker, I have medical needs and I am self-employed which means I BUY my medical coverage. My coverage sucks...high co-pays, high deductables, limited coverage, no dental, no vision. Don't tell me they have it worse due to getting free medical from the Fed.
Arguement 3: They don't get out much and usually are home with bologna and ketsup sandwiches. Hey, that is the staple of my diet. I save crackers from Wendy's for a treat. I'll reuse that big bladder-buster cup from my up-sized meal (I went crazy and spent an extra $.79) for weeks untill it gets a crack in it.
Arguement 4: It is a respectful courtesy...that is to say as a society we give homage to our senior population. Well, that is a great tradition. What crazy thing would happen if we had the same respect, honor and appreciation for everyone? Do you think we would even come up with the "senior discount"? Nope, we would just like each other more equally. Sure, I'm not saying we would have world peace and that there would not be assholes, but maybe we would not have to give special privlages to some persons categorically and not to other just because of their personal statisics (that is discrimination).

For the love of God...with literally thousands of things wrong in world, you take time out of your day to write an acid-laced manifesto against senior citizens getting a discount at restaurants?
