Little Joy

Little Joy consists of Strokes drummer Fabrizio Moretti, his girlfriend Binky, producer Noah Georgeson and Los Hermanos guitar player Rodrigo Amarante . Wow. Say those name five times fast. I JUST got the record and am listening to it for the first time as I type this...pretty cool.

I actually think I like this better than Albert Hammond, Jr's stuff...to each his own Stroke I guess.

Just sitting here basking in the early election results and I stumbled across this while nervously surfing the web in between called states.

It's from the soon to be released Scott Weiland solo album, 'Happy In Galoshes'...his cover of the Bowie classic, 'Fame'...enjoy.

This is a long shot, but I'll try anyway. I was standing in front of a hot chubby guy early this morning at the church downtown waiting to vote. Thought there might be some connection with you as I kept glancing at that buldge in your khakis! If you'reout there and reading this, let me know if you were as horny as I was this morning, waiting in line for an hour

The Sparrow And The Crow

This new William Fitzsimmons record is a brutal listen the first couple of times around. Breakup song after breakup song...I urge you to proceed with caution if you are in any sort of relationship turmoil...this won't help things. Gorgeous songs, but man is it melancholy in song form. The Sparrow And The Crow is the album...consider yourselves warned.

And also...just because I was thinking of it...my favorite song of his, which is on his 'Until We Are Ghosts' album that came out back in 2005.

I've been stomping around my house and had planned to pout all evening, because my husband said "no" to a purchase I wanted to make: some living room furniture "that would have been SUCH A BETTER MATCH with my living room drapes and TOO GOOD A DEAL TO PASS UP!!"

I sat down grumpily to begin my Bible Study and stumbled across an article about "girlfriends 'persuading each other' about the 'unfairness' of a marital situation." The article went on to describe a "praying wives' club" and the wonderful results the participants had seen in their own attitudes, in their marriages, and in the lives of their husbands, after a few months of meeting together. It said:

"Every marriage is a relationship between two flawed individuals, so no marriage will be without difficulties. But when you love your spouse with God's kind of love, you will see transformation resulting in a better outlook in the short term and a better marriage in the long term."

So, humbled, and looking forward to greeting my husband when he arrives home, I decided a praying wives' club sounded like a pretty good idea. If any one person, or many, feels similarly inclined, please contact me, and I will happily welcome you into my "mismatched" living room.

Pray, pray, pray with all your might to the great God above...so your husband will relent and let you buy those bargain priced pieces of furniture to go with your drapes!!! I LOVE organized religion!!!

The New Protest Songs: "It Takes Time To Build"

One day left until we can FINALLY overthrow the Bush dictatorship!!!

This last new protest song is perfect for the change that Barak Obama is trying to make in this country..."It Takes Time To Build"...just perfect. We have spent the last 8 years growing apart as a nation, and growing more and more isolated from the rest of the world. Hopefully, if all goes well tomorrow...we can start to rebuild some of those bridges.

I was watching Mr. Obama speak in Columbus yesterday and he mentioned George Bush for the first time, and folks - not suprisingly - started to boo. Barak immediatley told them not to boo...just vote. He is such a class act, and a consumate leader. Compare that with the hate and fear filled McCain/Palin rallys when chants of 'kill him' would break out and these so-called 'leaders' didn't say a word. George Bush has done such an incredible job of dividing this country...it's staggering to think of what he accomplished in 8 years.

Rock the vote.
