
Now this is a near perfect 'Americana/alt-country' album! Mr Carll sounds to me like Bobby Bare,Jr and Steve Earle with just the right amount of the Rolling Stones mixed in. Great songs about shadowy characters set in dive bars...perfect.

I just got turned on to Hayes Carll. Great stuff. I actually just Googled "Hayes Carll "I don't wanna grow up" Bobby Bare jr" to see if anyone else heard what I did. Given Hayes' delivery on that song he should send a royalty check to both Tom Waits and Bobby Bare, Jr.
