Don’t ask me why I obsessively look to rock ’n’ roll bands for some kind of model for a better society. I guess it’s just that I glimpsed something beautiful in a flashbulb moment once, and perhaps mistaking it for prophecy have been seeking its fulfillment ever since.

For Sale - beautiful pink "vagina couch" that I made in art school and no longer have space for. The couch is large: measures 5' 3" long, 3' 3" wide at the middle, and stands 2' 3" tall (and is heavy like a couch). The pics are from my portfolio and are several years old; as a result, the couch has some scuffmarks and stains around the bottom from being moved, but otherwise is in excellent shape. A professional upholsterer helped me build the couch, so it is also functional and durable as a piece of furniture. The couch must be picked up in Medina, a 3-hour drive north of Columbus. .

You gotta love the art school set! They have been making hideous furniture and dropping out to form really bad bands since the beginning of modern American culture.
Im the guy your mother warned you about...50 pounds overweight, dead end job and driving a piece of crap car... what she forgot to mention is that I'll always be there for you, can make you laugh and want nothing more than to spend some quality time by your side. So if you wanna get back at mom, or just prove to them that whats on the inside really IS more important...
The Stone Temple Pilots debut album will never make any critics list of all time favorites, nor should it really. Scott Weiland takes turns imitating some of his favorite singers through most of the album - Eddie Vedder on 'Plush' for example. It's seemed more like an homage to what was popular at time as opposed to a record of any real consequence. And I love it. Almost every note of it.
I was still in that point of my life where I was figuring out what I liked. Most of what I liked was what MTV's '120 Minutes' told me to like, and Matt Pinfield told me to buy this. So I did. I just know that when I put this CD in for the first time, I was hooked after about 25 seconds of the very first track, 'Dead And Bloated.' I still play that song whenever I find my self angry and out of sorts...yes, Weiland is my therapist sometimes...I get the irony.
If anyone doubted that the reforming of the Stone Temple Pilots was indeed a NON EVENT, then just take a longer look at the show they chose to come back with. As a resident of Columbus,OH...I can assure you that the Rock On The Range Festival is not, in any way good. Lots of bad metal on the lineup and STP. I wouldn't say I am excited that they are reuniting, more like I am feeling just a big nostalgic. Like hearing an ex girlfriend that you dated, but never loved, is back in town.
SO..in honor of this lukewarm feeling of nostalgia, here are a couple of tunes. My favorite STP song and one of the best indie rock dis songs ever written, courtesy of Pavement.
...or my email is anyway! Hey, it's me Blair...the Certain Songs staff of one. I just do this for the love of the music and am in no way trying to rip anybody off, so if you are an artist or a record label and you are not happy that I am promoting your music, or you want me to take a song down, just shoot me an email and I will most definitely oblige.
And please support the artists I post here in whatever way you can if you do download a song...go to a show, buy some merch, buy an album...these songs are the soundtrack to my life and I just love to share them. But I can only do that if the insanely talented artist responsible for said songs are able to eat.
I also love hearing new stuff...so any submissions can also be sent to my email, I will try my bestest to listen to everything and get back to you all...peace,love,rock n' roll.

I guess you're old enough to know. Kids out on the east coast. Roughly twenty years old. Got coaxed out by a certain perfect ratio. Of warm beer to the summer smoke. And the meat loaf to the billy joel. Certain songs they get so scratched into our souls.
She goes low on the seats when she gets high in her car. She looks shallow but shes neck deep in the steamy dreams of the guys along the harbor bars. She's pulling out her shirttails and jacking up her socks. Stern and stoned and confident, coming up towards the jukebox. Born into the only songs that everybody finally sings along. B-1 is for the good girls. It's only the good die young. C-9 is for the making eyes. It's paradise by the dashboard light. D4 is for the lovers. B12 is for the speeders. And the hard drugs are for the bartenders and the kitchen workers and the bartender's friends. And they're playing it again. Ellen Foley gives us hope. Certain songs they get scratched into our souls.
